SYNOPSIS: New liquid lens technology best on smaller camera phones is targeting more other imaging technology..

The Liquid  lens using water and sound has developed the pixel count and optical quality, don't you think its a solution for the futures worth of camera phones and an open door to a module for smaller, slimmer, and more power-efficient video cameras ?

Making the final decision on what captivates my interest on emerging technology seems sooooo..... time consuming here.
you need all the time in the world to research stuff. There is so many things to like, to read, to learn, and understand especially with the complexity of technology and then???? be able to say something about it.
How ever I have to start somehow with the thought about the liquid Lens

The production process sorrounds the thinking and creation part, it involves the brain storming part of the piece. I started feeling very tense and serious about the topic.

The word Technology it self is a mystery word to me. The way technology works is fun, but there are so many things about it that you marvel and would not understand how and why they work like magic.

There are so many things about Technology to choose from. I have to try and answer questions? Choose a Emerging technology, Is it going to work well? Is it worth telling?

 

·      Tools

The first tool to depend on is myself. How much do I know about Emerging Technology? Oh yes, the internet for information. And then the smart phone which is a piece of an expensive technology as well, and getting my son to practice recording video with the smartphone.

I edited my 5 minutes clip on a sony vegas editing software from the internet, and with VideoPad Video Editor i reformated the clip back into the smartphone.

 

 

·      Methods

The method of presentation of the video is an interview news information style.

 

·      Challenges and problems

My main challenge in the process is to simplify the topic, there is a lot to read and it’s a real challenge to summarise in 5minutes.

Presenting the topic with interesting visuals to be informative is a problem.

I really don’t have time to rethink a new topic.

The process with the assignment was a learning opporunity having to deal with all these technology, the internet, the smartphone, and the notebook. I have really used the smartphone and the note book this past week none like ever before.  I did not have time to work with Karen who was supposed to be my pair so I had to just work alone. I got my 10 year old son to be my camera phone operator. This made the process more harder and we both had fun after all..I really did things that am not familiar with, like downloading free editing software. I had alot of problem with file convertions. The software that I used had trouble reading the Mpeg4 files from the camera and I did alot of experiments with free online softwares for media file convertion to deal with the problem.

As I reflect generally with emerging technology it helps me to become conscious with the fact that the world is changing, and to be in the developed world I must catch up with the fast and complex communication technology. This compels me only to be prepared to accept and learn about its demand for our use.

 

In the years 2004 and 2005, when I was here in UNITEC, we used cameras that were recording on Mini DV tapes, 3 years later our cameras are now HD and are tape less recording on P2 cards with way much better quality.

One of the alternative, helpful and important things to think about the specialisation I have learned over the past years is the different roles in the camera department, an example is: being a focus puller. I think new development in the technology will reach a point where you wouldn’t worry about, learning the different types of lenses.

 

• The process with the assignment was very challenging but I have learned alot about emerging technology stuff while dealing with the assignment.

Hi all vox  neighbours am Peter Kafa here in New Zealand all the way from the Solomon Islands/South Pacific Islands Region. Am here  trying to complete this Film course which I started some years ago.

What I have learned here is just so much more than what I have expected of a Film School, Its very challenging and tough for me to be back doing the course. By the way i am learning alot of useful skills, although many things I may not do back home.

Film/TV is a grey new field of technology at home and it will be something to nurture and see it grow.

I am exited that my course is almost over but the continuing challenge still is to try my best to do well with my last assignments in the dying minutes of the course.I always need to be inspired because  I don't seem to find things easy, but our tutors and lecturers are very helpful and its encouraging to realize that I can do it with Gods help, the Lecturers helps and my classmates help.
